Product Review - Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Radiant Firming Makeup

Finally, a drugstore foundation that doesn't slide around and sit on top of your skin! This foundation really sinks into your skin, and looks flawless.
Here is what the bottle looks like -

It is packaged in a glass bottle with a red, twist-off cap. The overall packaging is very sleek and practical; the only down side is that there is no pump. You have to pour the foundation out onto the top of your hand, and that can get messy! But if the product inside is good, I don't care about the packaging too much.

Lets look at what the foundation claims to do:
 - Goji berry and caffeine visibly firm and improve skin's condition
 - Contains SFP 18 to help protect skin from sun damage

What it actually does:
 - I don't notice any firming; however, more mature skin might notice this.
 - Leaves skin soft.
 - This foundation has really good pigmentation. You don't need a lot to cover your entire face.
 - It will cover small scars or light hyper-pigmentation. (You will need a concealer for dark marks.)
 - It is not cakey or heavy, it's very lightweight.
 - Over time, it WILL lighten any dark spots because of the SPF it contains.

Who should use this foundation:
This foundation claims to be best for normal to dry skin. However, I have oily skin and I LOVE this foundation. It does not control oil so I do have to powder. Plus, it's fall now and we aren't sweating as much, and our skin is producing a lot less oil. The finish of this foundation is flawless; not too dewy and not too matte. It really looks like my own skin.

Bottom line:
I recommend everyone to give this foundation a try. It's lightweight, has good coverage, and a satin finish. It's a drugstore foundation so you can always find it on sale, and it's already at an affordable price! This is definitely a great everyday foundation, and I'm glad I picked it up a few weeks back!

Orange Who?

Fall is here! The weather may not feel like it, but the calendar is never wrong! It's time to pull out your sweaters and jackets from under your bed, and cozy up in your scarves and leather boots. The leaves are changing and so should your makeup! It's time to try out some fall makeup trends.
One trend that is rocking the runways is the color orange. It's everywhere! Orange sweaters, shoes, handbags, and even makeup! This may sound kind of crazy, but our favorite way of incorporating this trend is with blush and lipgloss. It's easy and it's not like a sweater that you can only wear during the cold months. Here is what we have been loving:

Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lush Nectarine Blush -
What I love most this blush is how it warms up your face. Our skin gets paler as the weather gets colder, and we don't have that goddess tan anymore. This blush really will warm up your face without it looking orange-y...well it will be orange but a good orange! This blush is so soft and creamy even though it's a powder, and it will literally stay on all day! Best of all, it suits all skin tones and can be worn all year long!

Sephora Collection Super Shimmer Lip Gloss in Summer Crush -
Don't let the name deceive you, this gloss is gorgeous in Fall! Bold lips are all the talk during this time of year, but it's not always easy to pull them off. This gloss is an alternative to bright, opaque lips. You get the effect of having the unexpected color on your lips, but you don't have to worry about looking like a clown or getting lipstick on your teeth!

Home Remedies for Oily/Acne-prone Skin!

Do you suffer from oily or acne-prone skin? Have you purchased tons of expensive products, and visited multiple dermatologists with zero results? Well, we have some good news for you! We have put together a 100% natural skincare regime for you! The best part is that all the ingredients can be found in your kitchen! There are no harsh or harmful ingredients, and most importantly, all these recipes are tried and true! Both of us have actually used this regime to help clear our acne. Sometimes store-bought products are just too harsh to use on broken out skin, but don’t fear. These recipes for homemade skincare will help you clear your skin!

Recipes For Clear Skin:

Gram Flour Cleanser-
You will need:
One cup of gram flour
One tablespoon of turmeric powder
- Mix the two ingredients together and store in a container. Wet your face and use around two tablespoons of the mixture. Massage it into your skin and rinse. The gram flour will absorb any oil, and the turmeric powder will help even out your skin tone. Do this morning and night. This recipe can be used for around one week.

Toner-
You will need:
One cup of rose water
One third cup of witch hazel
- Pour ingredients into a spray bottle. Spray two to three times onto clean skin. Wipe off with cotton ball. This will get rid of any oil left over on your face. The rose water will help with redness, and the witch hazel will actually treat the zits. Do this morning and night right after your cleanser. This recipe will last up to 2 weeks. Store this in your refrigerator for a cool burst every morning.

Moisturizer-
You will need:
1/2 tablespoon of yogurt
1/2 tablespoon of honey
- Mix the yogurt and honey together in a bowl. Apply the mixture onto your face and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse off to reveal glowy and soft skin!

Scrub-
You will need:
One cup of brown sugar
One cup of oatmeal
- Mix the brown sugar and oatmeal in a container. Apply to wet face and gently massage in circular motions. Your face will literally feel like a baby's butt. Do this no more than 2 times a week.

Mask-
You will need:
3 tablespoons of gram flour
- Mix water into the gram flour until it becomes a paste. Apply this to your entire face, and wait until it hurts to smile. Wash off with water. This will literally dry out your face so make sure to apply moisturizer. You can apply this mask around 2 times a week.

Stick to this routine and you will see a difference! Let us know if you like this post and what else you want to see!

Good luck!!
